CAVA is a non-profit organization, incorporated in the Province of Ontario on August 3, 2004 as a non-profit, non-share corporation (File Number: 425255-1).


Board of Directors 

CAVA's Board of Directors draws on individuals from a wide variety of victim rights, service and support organizations from across Canada. Officers

President: Carolyn Sinclair

Carolyn is a founding member and President of the Canadian Association for Victims Assistance, CAVA-ACAV She is past president and Executive Director for Police Victim Services of British Columbia. Beyond victim services Carolyn is a program coordinator and instructor with the Centre of Forensic & Security Technology Studies at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) She is also a co-founder and partner of Strategic Business Risks International Inc. (SBRI).

Over the past 10 years Carolyn has gained extensive experience in British Columbia as a volunteer and auxiliary case worker in both RCMP and Municipal Police based programs. She participates in and delivers advanced training to victim services staff and volunteers via annual symposiums recruit training as well as through initiatives developed by the Ministry of Solicitor General’s Victim Services Division.

Kim Gramlich

Kim Gramlich has worked in the field of Victim Services for over 11 years. She is currently the Coordinator of the Delta Police Victim Services program. Kim sits on the Board of Police Victim Services of BC. She has her bachelors degree in psychology from Simon Fraser University and her Masters degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University. Kim lives in Langley BC.

Conceptual Inception: 2002

Victim Services Survey: Started 2003
As a membership driven organization, CAVA is conducting an ongoing survey of  our members, survivors of crime and tragedy, and service providers in general,  to determine which items and issues are most important to Canadians.

Non-profit Incorporation: Aug. 3, 2004

CAVA Inaugural National Conference: Dec. 6-7, 2004, in Vancouver, BC. 

CAVA 2nd National Conference: Oct. 22-25,2006, in Mississauga, Ontario.
